Kode Ninja (courtesy GitHub)It’s impressive to me how much support there is out there now for teaching yourself to code! I really believe in, and support, this effort. In that vein, I have some more resources that I have stumbled across since writing my last post.

Ultimately, the onus is on you to determine what’s going to be the best avenue for you to take to learn to code what you want to code (web pages, SaaS, applications, mobile apps, missile guidance systems). But with the plethora of tools that are out there, finding the resources you need can now be labelled ‘easy’.

First off, I want to give major props to Happy Nerds. This site is incredible. While focused on getting kids to code (a noble pursuit), I believe that there are a lot of lessons that can be learned by adults through the software that is highlighted here. They make the effort to offer cross-platform solutions, so no matter what flavour of OS you have at home, you’ll be able to embrace programming.

Next, through GitHub, I have discovered CoderDojo and how it is starting to be adopted in North America. Check it out, and may your kode-fu be strong! I would love to see something like this come to Canada.

Last, this post just came out on Queness (an awesome web design/dev blog which I follow).
